Third company we had out after the May hail. The first two wanted to talk replacement before they got on the roof. These guys walked it, found damage on two slopes and not the other two, and wrote it up that way. They also handed us their state registration number and told us to go look it up, which nobody else did.

Had a leak over the kitchen for two winters and two different roofers had caulked the chimney. This crew explained that the counterflashing had never been cut into the mortar, showed me photos of the surface-caulked metal, and did it properly. Cost more than a tube of sealant. Has been dry for a year and a half.

They talked me out of a coating a door-to-door outfit had quoted me, then told me my roof had about seven years left and I did not need anything yet. Wrote it up with pictures and did not charge me. When it does need replacing I am not calling anyone else.

Pulled the permit without me asking, which I later found out is not a given around here. Scope listed the shingle, the underlayment, the valley membrane and the nail pattern instead of just saying new roof. Deposit was not due until the shingles were sitting in my driveway. Straightforward from start to finish.
